As a noninvasive cosmetic procedure, a Semi permanent or almost permanent reduction in body hair growth can be achieved with laser. Some people may notice a significant change in the rate and quality of hair regrowth over time.

How many sessions will I need?

There are three phases of hair growth: anagen (active), catagen (regressive), and telogen (inactive). Lasers effectively treat only the hairs that are in the active phase of growth (anagen). Therefore, a series of treatments are needed at an interval of 4-6 weeks to address new growth cycles. Usually, about 8-10 treatments achieve up to 80% reduction in hair growth. More number of sessions might be required in people with hormonal issues.

Why does Hair On Specific Parts of body Regrow More Rapidly?

The reactivation of hair follicles by androgens (a hormone that regulates the hair follicles) may contribute to this. When estrogen levels decline during menopause, regrowth of hair on the chin, neck, and upper lip and sideburns may occur in some women. It’s also possible to regrow hair on the body. It may be more likely to occur on the arms, legs, or chest in some individuals than on the bikini line, stomach, or underarms. When body hair grows back, it is often sparse and very fine.

What is as paradoxical hypertrichosis ?

Rarely, laser hair removal may cause thicker, darker hair to grow or regenerate in nearby areas. This disorder is referred to as paradoxical hypertrichosis. Anywhere on the face or body is susceptible to paradoxical hypertrichosis.

Do I need any other tests?

Excessive hair growth on the face and neck may be caused by hormonal imbalances such as polycystic ovary syndrome. Hormonal testing may be advised depending on the individual.

What happens during the procedure?

A handheld laser device is run across the skin surface. Some people might feel a slightly warm, stinging sensation. We will provide protective eye shields. The procedure is gentle, non-invasive, and with little or no pain. Treatment time is mostly dependent on the body area being treated. Smaller areas like the chin may only take a few minutes, whereas legs may take up to 45 mins.

What aftercare do I need?

In most cases, there is no downtime, and you can resume daily activities at once. You may experience some redness post-procedure. It is critical to protect the treated skin from sun exposure and follow the prescription given by us.

Who is not suitable?

Laser Hair Reduction is a safe treatment with no serious side effects. We can safely do it for most individuals. The following people are not suitable for the procedure:

People with an active infection, herpetic lesions, tattoos, or permanent make up in the area.
Pregnant women.
Patients with autoimmune disease.
